At the end of February, 28 squadron from the 10th Queen's Own Ghurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) will be exercising up here on Lewis and Harris.

The unit is made up of 120 men and women, mostly Ghurkhas and mostly drivers.

You will see packets of 3 – 5 Man SV trucks roaming around these isles from about March 1st to March 8th.

On top of this, they will be holding a cultural event in and around Percival SQ on the afternoon of Saturday the 4th of March.

They will be bringing a taste of Nepal with them as they have a tasting session of Nepalese curries. There is also going to be some of their Pipes and Drums present.

Also on display will be some of the vehicles they drive around in, so people can get up close and see them first hand.

Members of the local Army reserve from 7 SCOTS will also be present and they will have with them the Regimental mascot, a Shetland pony called LCpl Cruachan IV.

Keep your eyes peeled!
