Two men are to appear at Stornoway Sheriff court on Monday (October 22nd) after two separate incidents in Stornoway at the weekend.

A 27-year-old man was stopped by police while driving in the area of Stornoway harbour on Sunday (October 21st) around 1.50am. He failed to provide a breath test or sample and was arrested and charged with drink-driving.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody in the early hours of Sunday after reports of an incident at an address in the town centre area. He was charged with domestic assault and remains in custody for court on Monday morning.

Also in custody during the weekend was a 19-year-old man who was charged with assault after an incident on North Beach Street at 1am on Sunday 21st. He was kept in custody until sober and is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

At 1am on Saturday (October 20th) police were called to Castle Street in Stornoway, where a 24-year-old man was shouting and swearing at members of the public. He was cautioned and charged with breach of the peace and issued with a fixed penalty.
