Stornoway Coastguard were called at 11.50am this morning with a report from a local resident of a vessel having difficulty off Portnaguran. RNLB Tom Sanderson was launched from Stornoway five minutes later and a Coastguard Rescue Team from Stornoway was also despatched to the scene.
On arrival at Portnaguran it was established that the fishing crew were lifting creels and were in no need of assistance. The emergency teams were stood down and all units had returned to base by 2pm this afternoon.
