In court after domestic incident

A man appeared in court in Stornoway yesterday (Monday January 28th) after spending a night in custody at Stornoway police station.

The 37-year-old man was arrested at a residential address in the town on Sunday at 5.15pm after police were called to a disturbance at the address.

He was charged with domestic breach of the peace and vandalism and appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

He’s been released on bail following his appearance.

Shoplifting warning

A man was arrested in Stornoway town centre yesterday (Monday January 28th) after a report that goods had been taken without payment from a town centre shop.

Police were called at 12 noon to the shop, where they cautioned and charged the man.

He was issued with a recorded police warning.
