Traffic is now flowing again on the Lochs Road, south of Stornoway, following a car accident.
This follows a road closure around 11am which also affected the Pentland Road as traffic attempted to bypass the affected section of road near Creed Park industrial estate.
Police stated earlier: "Following a road traffic accident this morning, near the Creed Park Entrance on the A859 Lochs Road, Police Scotland have closed the road whilst the situation is being assessed. Comhairle nan Eilean Siar roads staff are assisting Police Scotland with the closures at Cameron Terrace and Arnish Junction."
Police stated around 2pm that: "The road closure at the A859 near Stornoway has now been partially lifted, with traffic moving but restricted to one lane at the moment. Thank you for your patience. We'll post further updates as they are available."
Traffic is pictured above starting to flow freely at about 1.40pm today after the roadblocks were removed and traffic control was confined to the area immediately around the accident site.
