Gaelic writers at any level have a chance to improve their skills during a Lewis-based development week.

Applications for the event close tomorrow (Wednesday 21 August) at 5pm.

Ten writers will have the chance to take part in the development of a new Gaelic drama work. 

The event will be held from 29 September to 4 October.

Two places are reserved for under-30's and two places are reserved for those from the Western Isles and Skye.

The event is supported by Rosie Kellagher, Dramaturg at the National Theater of Scotland, MG Alba and Playwrights' Studio Scotland. 

The play will be inspired by, Gaelic literature and it is intended that the students will showcase some of the work they produce during the week at the Celtic, CONNECT, in November 2019.

There are no fees payable for this opportunity; Accommodation, food and public transport travel will be organized by Theater Gu Leòr and the Gaelic Books Council with funding support from Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
