A series of free community events on local Marine Protected Areas will be held throughout the Western Isles.
The events form part of the Seas of the Outer Hebrides (SEASOH) project and everyone is welcome to attend.
Each event will feature two sessions with the same content, running from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Family-friendly activities and free refreshments (tea, coffee, juice, cake) will be available to all.
The SEASOH team stated: "Although time has been put in for the sessions to run for anything up to 2 hours, we would really appreciate anyone being able to come along for whatever time they could spare.
"The programme will include an introduction to the project, and conversations about what communities feel is important about the seas around our islands. We’ll also have some fun with short, family-friendly activities run by a local artist. There will be a feedback form, and the opportunity to talk privately if anyone wishes.
"Our intended outcome from the events will be an understanding of what benefits communities would like to see from Marine Protected Areas and what they feel is important in terms of management. We will feed back our findings from these engagement events to communities primarily through our website."
The events are:
- Friday 7 - Talla Chidhe, Lochboisdale, South Uist
- Saturday 8 - Castlebay College, Barra
- Monday 10 - Lochmaddy Village Hall, North Uist
- Monday 10 - Leverburgh village hall, Harris
- Tuesday 11 - Uig community hall, Lewis
- Wednesday 12 - An Lanntair, Stornoway
