A power cut that affected all properties between Borve and Port of Ness this afternoon (Tuesday 28 January) has now been repaired by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).

In all, 860 homes and businesses at a total of 60 postcodes lost power just before 4.30pm today, the problem traced to a piece of equipment which was already being checked at Melbost, Borve.

With engineers already on site the power supply was quickly restored and all properties are now back on supply.

SSEN apologised for the inconvenience to customers.
