Spar is recalling its Egg Mayonnaise Sandwich Filler due to an incorrectly extended ‘use by’ date, the Food Standards Agency has reported this evening (Friday).

This recall affects its Egg Mayonnaise Sandwich Filler 220g as the product has been incorrectly labelled with a ‘use by’ date of 17.01.  It should have been dated 02.01.

No other Spar products are known to be affected.  The FSA advice to consumers is that if you have bought the product do not eat it. Instead, customers can return it to the store for a full refund.

Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
