A massive increase in passenger numbers over the Easter holidays has led to operator Citylink laying on more buses between Ullapool and Inverness.
Citylink were contacted by Highlands and Islands Labour MSP, Rhoda Grant, who also liaised with CalMac over the issue.
She said: "This situation has led to a number of people becoming stranded or having to book more expensive forms of travel. I was made aware of difficulties still being experienced a week ago and contacted Citylink immediately who responded by adding additional buses. I am happy to confirm following similar contact with Citylink today they have agreed to add the following services to the timetable for the coming busy days.
Mrs Grant added: “Again I would like to thank Citylink for their response in this matter as we work towards a permanent workable solution.”
