Laxdale Primary School pupils have displayed their generosity donating a magnificent total of £2,552 to Stornoway RNLI.
Laxdale Primary One class collected £258 worth of 1ps and 2ps towards the Stornoway RNLI ‘One Million Pennies Appeal’ – which was added to the sum raised by the entire school when they completed a sponsored walk to Lews Castle Grounds recently.

Stornoway RNLI Coxswain DI Murray, Mechanic MJ Murray, and crewman Gavin Maciver, were invited to Laxdale School last week as pupils performed a special RNLI-themed assembly – and DI, MJ and Gavin’s sons and daughter each gave a speech about their dad’s involvement with the lifeboat, before being delighted to hand over a cheque for £2,552.

Stornoway RNLI Mechanic MJ Murray, Coxswain DI Murray, and crewman Gavin Maciver were presented the Laxdale School donated by their children Eilidh and Donny Murray (MJ's son and daughter); Innes Murray (DI's son), and Micheal Maciver (Gavin's son)
