Flights from Stornoway to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow have been cancelled for today, the flight to Benbecula is currently showing it will depart. 

Due to the severe Amber Weather Warning in the Central belt all flights departing Edinburgh and Glasgow are now cancelled until Friday morning (2nd March). 

Glasgow Airport issuing further updates on plans for tomorrow’s schedule later today. They advise passengers not to travel to the airport today and anyone with travel plans should contact their airline directly for specific flight information.

Due to the current Red Weather Warning in the Central belt all Flybe operated flights departing Edinburgh and Glasgow are cancelled until 12:00 Thurs 1st March. 

Glasgow Airport are extending the closure of the airport until 3pm on Thursday, they advise passengers not to travel to the airport and anyone with travel plans should contact their airline directly for specific flight information.

Wednesday February 28th

Scottish airline Loganair announced its decision to cancel all flights from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee today (Wednesday, February 28th).

And the departure boards at Stornoway Airport read all flights cancelled for the remainder of today.

Loganair said its decision was due to the Red Weather Warning issued by the Met Office across parts of Scotland today – and flights will be cancelled through to 10am tomorrow morning (Thursday, March 1st).

“We apologies for the obvious inconvenience caused to our passengers today, a further update will be posted tomorrow morning or if the situation worsens,” the air company said.

It adds that for customers due to travel during this period are advise to seek refunds by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. They also ask that customers expecting to travel within the next 72 hours first call the Loganair call centre on 0344 800 2855.
