The main ferry services from Castlebay – hit in quick succession by bad weather cancellations, the damage done when debris affected propellers and the latest “technical issue” – remain cancelled today (Tuesday April 16th)
Additional sailings are running across the Sound of Barra until late into the evening to connect to sailings to and from Uist via Uig and Mallaig.
This will allow two full return trips across the day to alleviate the backlog of traffic from the MV Isle of Lewis disruption.
Additional services from Castlebay cannot run until the stricken Isle of Lewis can move from the pier.
