Court for drink-driver

A 49-year-old man is to appear in court from custody on Tuesday (December 4th) following the court holiday tomorrow, Monday.

Stornoway police were called to a location in Point after receiving information regarding the man’s driving and arrested and charged him with drink driving.

He remains in custody at Stornoway Police Station ahead of his court appearance.

Party-goers sought

Police are looking for information from people who attended a party at an address in Newvalley on Friday night (November 30th) after a window was broken from within the building.

The owners of the home were not present at the time of the incident, but reported to Police at 9.20pm that they had returned to find the window broken and some of the party-goers still present.

Police are following a positive line of enquiry, but would like anyone with any information to contact them on the non-emergency number, 101.

Takeaway assault 

A man is being questioned by police after an altercation at a takeaway led to an alleged assault.

Police were called to the Golden Ocean takeaway in Stornoway town centre at 2am this morning (Sunday December 2nd) with reports that a dispute was taking place between customers. Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.
