A 57-year-old man is to appear in court on June 11, after being arrested for drink-driving in Stornoway at 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 May.)

The man was released after being charged, on an undertaking to return for his court appearance.

On the same day, police were called to a shop in Stornoway town centre at 5:45pm, when a man was caught in the act of taking alcohol without paying.

The man has been charged with theft by shoplifting and is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
