A man has appeared in court in Stornoway after police were called to an address in Parkend at 8pm on Monday (June 24th) to reports of a disturbance.

The 34-year-old was found to be in breach of bail conditions set following an earlier offence and appeared in court from custody on Tuesday, where he gave a guilty plea and was fined, as well as being reminded of his bail conditions, which are to continue.

At 12.30am on Sunday 23rd June a 17-year-old man was warned by police regarding his behaviour, when he was acting in a threatening and violent manner towards others on Point Street in Stornoway.

He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody, and was later issued with a fixed penalty before being released when sober.
