Leverburgh’s RNLI Lifeboat station and crew need extra help from the people of Harris to continue their valuable work saving lives at sea.
RNLI Leverburgh have vacancies for volunteer fundraisers and event supporters, each essential to the professionalism and effectiveness of the lifeboat team.
Fundraisers need to commit to attending meetings and fundraising events, and to be full of ideas for new ways to raise money for the RNLI, while event helpers play a vital role making events rund smoothly, doing everything from handing out promotional information to serving refreshments.
The payback is a chance to belong to a motivated and enthusiastic team, meeting new people and gaining skills at the same time. It’s also a positive boost to a CV to have supported the RNLI in your community.
A Leverburgh RNLI spokesman said: “Whether at the coast or inland, all sorts of volunteers play a role in saving lives at sea. As well as crew we are also interested in speaking to anyone interested in helping with fundraising and events. Come and speak to us at the South Harris Show or find out more on the website!”
