An opportunity for budding animators, artists, illustrators and graphic designers to find out more from industry insiders is on offer this week.

An XpoNorth Networking event will take place in An Lanntair arts centre on Thursday, November 19th, 7pm-9pm; and offer the chance for island creatives to speak with animation industry and XpoNorth representatives.

Particular focus of the networking event will be on two new animation and design courses being offered through XpoNorth, working in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, MG ALBA, and BAFTA award winning animation company King Rollo Films.

The two week courses – Designing Backgrounds for Animation (December 7th to 18th) and Cel2DAnimation (January 11th to 22nd, 2016) – both offer a practical, hands-on experience for participants.

The December course will explore the fundamentals of design, drawing and painting animation backgrounds amongst others, and the January course will deliver experience and an overview of Cel2DAction animation software.

Both courses will be held at Sabhal Mor Ostaig in Skye, and assistance can be given with travel and accommodation costs for participants out-with the immediate area.

You can find out more about the Animation courses, and what else is on offer for creative minds in the Highlands and Islands at the XpoNorth Networking event on Thursday.
