And now for something completely different…Artizan is the latest venture to open in lower Church Street, Stornoway - from 1pm today (Friday) - bringing together coffee, cakes, art, and jewellery and so much more!
Once you get inside, there's a modern, bright and airy feel…with plenty of choice of places to sit, and art to admire on the walls, while upstairs there's jewellery and whole range of other gifts.
There a range of coffees, and loads of other drinks, including craft beers, specially selected wine and some gin from the Isle of Harris distillery. It all based in the former premises of Angus Smith Photography and Christina's Jems.
On the counter there's a great choice of tasty, home-made cakes…plus there's tapas and platters for more substantial meals and snacks.
So the family can sit downstairs while the relaxed gift shopping takes place upstairs.
And there's a big variety to choose from…including island products like Hebridean Soap
And for artists working throughout Lewis and Harris, Artizan aims to provide a venue for sales and for promoting the work of various artists whose own studios may be far from the main routes.
The aim is to provide a unique combination of experiences…something to eat, something to drink, something to admire, something to buy…and something for all ages.
