The family of a fisherman missing after the sinking of the fishing vessel 'Louisa' have started legal proceedings to have him officially declared dead.

Despite extensive searches, the body of skipper Paul Alliston (42), from Lochs, has never been recovered.

Chris Morrison (27) from Leverburgh, and Martin Johnstone (29) from Caithness, also perished in the tragedy, which took place in the early hours of Saturday April 9, 13 miles south of Barra, off the isle of Mingulay.

A fourth crew member, Lachlan Armstrong (27), from Stornoway, survived after managing to swim ashore.
