Young Scots in the Highlands and Western Isles have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at BBC Radio nan Gàidheal and MG ALBA.
MG ALBA has teamed up with Young Scot - the national youth information and citizenship charity for Scotland – to offer the exciting experience to Young Scot Rewards users.
Young people have the chance to apply for an opportunity to gain an exciting insight into MG ALBA/BBC Radio nan Gàidheal in Stornoway or with BBC Gàidhlig teams in either Stornoway or Inverness. The young people will get behind the scenes with programme production teams or help reporters with the most important news of the day as part of the news teams.
Young Scots aged 16 – 25 will be able to apply via Young Scot Rewards - an innovative programme aimed at encouraging young people to take part in positive activities that benefit themselves and their communities in return for points which can then be redeemed for unique ‘money can’t buy’ experiences.
The MG ALBA reward applications are now open. Please follow the link for more information https://rewards.youngscot.org/rewards/1032-apply-opportunities-with-mg-alba-16 , applications for the rewards experience will close at the end of November.
Murdo Morrison of MG Alba, which operates in partnership with the BBC said: “We are delighted to be involved with Young Scot and to have the support of BBC Radio nan Gàidheal. As an accredited Investors in Young People organisation, MG ALBA has a proven track record in actively supporting and promoting links with young people and we are pleased to work with Young Scot to offer a young Gaelic speaker the opportunity to learn more about the Gaelic media in Scotland.”
Louise Macdonald, Chief Executive of Young Scot said: “Supporting young people and creating places for young people to thrive is at the heart of everything we do here at Young Scot. This is a fantastic opportunity for any young person who wants to gain an insight into what goes on behind the microphone!”
