The Lochs Agriculture Show 2017 was a great success in the sun on Saturday July 22nd.  The Vauxhall Viva Car prize was won by Ali Williamson of South Bragar. The show was opened officially by TV and radio star Sanjeev Kohli who was introduced by show committee chair Peter Maclennan.

Mr Maclennan paid tribute to the work of all those involved in putting the event together and those who took part. He also particularly thanked local crofters Donnie Macleod and Finlay Maciver for allowing use of adjacent crofts to provide essential car parking which absorbed the vehicles used by the thousands attending the event. Sanjeev Kohli is married to Fiona from Stornoway and he mentioned he had visited the Isle of Lewis four times and 'each the sun had split the sky" so he was hopeful of being invited back to the show to ensure it got sunny weather again.
