The Blythswood Shoebox Appeal will be held in Lewis and Harris over three days in November.

The collections are on Thursday 9th November 3.30pm-6 pm, Friday 10th 3.pm-7 pm and Saturday 11th November 10am-12 noon.

The Appeal Centre will be in the Blythswood Store in the Old Co-op – via its Kenneth Street entrance (with thanks to D.R. Macleod Haulage) which is situated opposite Lodge Fortrose .

Publicity leaflets have been sent out to various departments and to Hebridean Housing Partnership and are available in some schools, churches and community groups. There are some leaflets for CnES Staff available at the reception desk in the Council HQ Sandwick Road, Stornoway.

Leaflets for the general public are available from the Blythswood Charity Shop on Kenneth Street, Stornoway (Monday to Saturday 10 am-4 pm).

The appeal organisers also have some shoeboxes available already Christmas wrapped for a £1 in the shop.

The organisers are appealing for volunteers to provide staff for the Appeal Centre. They say: “Can you spare a few hours please and contact Dorothy Kennedy, DJ Macleod, or Chris Martin 70 6143 or leave a message for Charlie Nicolson on 01851 703325. “ Just a few hours, please would be a big help…on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday.”
