This year’s Sea Sunday Service in Stornoway takes place on Sunday July 9th at 11am in St Columba's Church, Lewis Street, Stornoway.

Sea Sunday aims to highlight the challenges which seafarers face every day.

The event can actually take place on any Sunday during the year and is promoted by the Sailors Society.

All organisations connected with the sea are especially welcome at the event in Stornoway which is traditionally well supported and attended by the RNLI Lifeboat, the Lifeboat Guild, fishermen, Stornoway Port Authority, Caledonian MacBrayne staff, Coastguards, Fishermen's Mission, and many more.

Rev William Heenan of St Columba's Church said the aim of the event is to mark the work of those at sea and remember their contribution to society.
