Alasdair Allan MSP is encouraging Islanders to take part in the Community Conversation events being run by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar regarding their planned redesign of the bus services.
He has also written to the Comhairle to raise the concerns people have expressed to him about the short time people have been given in which to give their views.
A crowd including pupils from Stornoway Primary, Laxdale Primary and the Nicolson Institute gathered today in Perceval Square in the centre of Stornoway to mark the beginning of Armed Forces Week, which culminates in Armed Forces Day 2019 which will be held on Saturday 29 June.
The Nicolson Institute pipe band opened proceedings with a musical performance which was followed by a minute’s silence.
All 24 schools in the Western Isles are receiving a Certificate of Excellence from WW100 Scotland Scottish Commemorations Panel.
The certificates are being awarded in recognition of the schools' outstanding contributions and performances in the Dìleab Project and the special HMY Iolaire 100 events.
The project saw Lewis pupils working on the loss of the Iolaire, Harris pupils focussing on World War I and Barra pupils researching emigration.
