Seen above are a group of happy students receiving their Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland certificates in Elementary Food Hygiene.
The learners studied food hygiene while doing a short course in baking at Lews Castle College UHI.
They are pictured with the course tutor, Margaret Rodden (left).
The food hygiene course is essential for those involved in any aspect of food handling. It provides an introduction to food hygiene, food poisoning and its prevention.
Margaret explained “We can offer this course on its own, either taught in classroom/kitchen, or online. This group of students really enjoyed combining it with the bakery course and are keen to continue with further short courses in cookery”.
