Alasdair Allan MSP is encouraging Islanders to take part in the Community Conversation events being run by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar regarding their planned redesign of the bus services.

 He has also written to the Comhairle to raise the concerns people have expressed to him about the short time people have been given in which to give their views.

 

An ambitious project to map emigrants from the islands and tell their stories was launched on Friday evening (May 31st) in Harris.

Isle of Harris Distillery has linked up with Bill Lawson of the Seallam! visitor centre in Northton to start the project, which will link personal memories with interactive technology to chart the settlement of Hebrideans worldwide.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s (SCO) Wind Ensemble will be performing in Tarbert on Wednesday June 26th.

This is part of a tour beginning on South Uist at St Peter’s Hall in Daliburgh on 24 June, then Carnish Village Hall in North Uist on 25 June, Tarbert Community Centre on 26 June before bringing the tour to a close at Stornoway’s An Lanntair on Thursday 27 June.
