Additional flights between Barra and Glasgow have been added into the timetable to try and ease congestion for island travellers.

Loganair has put additional flights into the schedule on August 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 30th to try and meet some of the demand for seats during the busiest period of the summer.

Instead of the usual two return flights per day, these dates only will now have three return flights, with seats on sale today (Friday July 26th) from www.loganair.co.uk.

The funding for the extra flights has come from Transport Scotland after Castlebay Community Council lobbied the government on the restraints on travel being placed on island flyers due to visitor demand for seats.
