The Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland – Lewis & Harris, Karen Macdonald, is holding a 'Young Persons Engagement Day' to celebrate the work of young volunteers.

It is on Monday 17th July from 11am-2pm with the meeting place being Cuddy Point at 10.45am.

It's a very informal session including a treasure hunt organised by Pursuit Hebrides.

There will be lunch provided and a chat in the Woodlands Centre discussing volunteering/fundraising for the charity

Marion MacInnes, Service Manager for Alzheimer Scotland – Lewis & Harris, said this is “celebrating the great work of all our fantastic young volunteers. Whether it is helping out at events, organising events on our behalf or supporting at the Solas day centre we want to show that their support really means a lot.”

Karen Macdonald, community fundraiser, said: “We want to celebrate the great work our young volunteers have done for us over the last year and make this an annual event.

“We’d also love to hear from any other people interested in volunteering with us and welcome them to attend on the day”.
