An electricity cable in Point has been damaged by contractors, leaving 10 households in Garrabost in the dark.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said the fault was reported this morning around 10am and was found to have been caused by a third party. Engineers are on site and all affected customers are expected to have their power restored by 12.30pm.
Meanwhile all the storm-damaged supplies have now been re-connected, but a local SSEN spokesman said that customers would see staff out and about over the next few days, checking on equipment and ensuring that any minor damage is rectified.
All planned outages for routine maintenance work on the network have been cancelled for the time being, meaning that households in the Carloway area who had been notified that power is to be turned off today will not now be affected.
