Stornoway police are asking for help from the public after two galvanised gates were taken from the fank at Back.

The gates, measuring 4ft by 3ft, are of the kind used with the fank to enclose sheep.

They were taken from the fank some time between the evening of Wednesday January 8th and the morning of Saturday January 11th.

 Anyone who has any information about the theft is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number NH63/20.


Penalty for 18-year-old

A man was arrested on Point Street in Stornoway at 1.30am on Saturday (January 18th) and taken into custody at Stornoway police station.

The 18-year-old was charged with breach of the peace and issued with a fixed penalty, before being released once he was sober.
