The Scottish Gaelic Awards, now in their sixth year and supported once again by Bòrd na Gàidhlig as the main sponsor, are now open for nominations.

The awards are intended to highlight the work that groups and individuals do to promote Gaelic in Scotland and overseas with categories including Event of the Year, Innovation in Education, Sport award and the International Award.

Winners in 2017 included Pàdruig Morrison from Grimsay, North Uist who won the Young Gaelic Ambassador of the Year; Fèisean nan Gàidheal which won the Gaelic as an Economic Asset award and Comunn Eachdraidh Nis who won the Event Award.(pictured above)

There are 10 categories in total and the awards will be presented at an event in Glasgow in November.
