Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MSP Alasdair Allan yesterday visited Trust Housing’s Lewis Street complex in Stornoway to see the installation of a new Wi-Fi system designed to get older people online.

Alasdair Allan commented: “I was delighted to meet with key staff from Trust Housing at Lewis Street sheltered housing, in Stornoway.
"I heard about the work they do there and the ongoing efforts to expand and improve the excellent services provided at the facility.
“Of particular interest is the initiative to introduce Wi-Fi across the complex and encourage internet use by residents. We live in an age where technology allows us to be more easily connected than ever, and it is clear that this has tremendous potential in reducing the isolation that can so often be felt by the elderly and vulnerable.
“It is encouraging to see this potential being recognised and put to use in the islands”
