Missing girl update 11.00 Friday August 17th:
The search for missing 17-year-old Hannah Mackenzie remains focused on the town of Stornoway and the Castle grounds this morning.
Police have called for assistance from the Maritime Coastguard Agency and all volunteer coastguard teams from around Lewis and Harris have been tasked to participate in the search.
Officers from Police Scotland are seeking the assistance of the public in an effort to trace a 17-year-old missing from the Stornoway area. The appeal was issued at 01.07 today (Friday August 17th).
Hannah Mackenzie from Gravir was last seen about 4:00pm on Thursday 16th August 2018 outside The Nicolson Institute in Stornoway.
She was intending to walk to the Western Isles Hospital.
Hannah is described as being white, 5'5" tall, slim build, with dark hair worn in a pony tail.
She was last seen wearing black skinny jeans, a dark blue Nicolson Institute sweater, and a black waist length jacket with white lining and white furry strip on the hood.
If anyone has seen Hannah or has any information or knowledge as to her whereabouts, please contact police as a matter of urgency.
