Police activity in Lewis has led to the arrest of three people for drugs offences this week.
At 10.25pm on Sunday (16th December) a 37-year-old man was searched in Stornoway under the the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. He was found to be in possession of a class A drugs in sufficient quantity for supply to others, and of a large amount of cash.
The man was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with drugs offences and appeared in court on Monday (17th December).
He’s been released on bail pending further investigations.
In a separate incident, police searched a house in Lochs on Monday (17th December) and arrested a woman aged 30 and a 35-year-old man for possession of drugs.
They will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Dangerous driving - police appeal
Stornoway police are asking for help from the public after a silver car was seen driving dangerously, when the roads were quiet, in the early hours of Tuesday (December 18th).
Anyone who saw the car being driven between 2am and 4.30am in the Cearns area is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
Charges after assaults
Three people have been arrested in Stornoway following two separate incidents of assault.
Police received a report on Monday (December 17th) at 6.55pm of an assault which had taken place earlier in the day.
During investigations, a 39-year-old man was arrested and a second man, aged 36, was arrested and charged with obstruction. Both men were reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
In a separate incident on Tuesday (December 18th) police were called to a domestic address in the town at 4.40am after a report of an assault.
A 49-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault. He’s been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and appeared in court today (Wednesday December 19th) and was released on bail.
