An Lanntair is calling on all creative people to get themselves along to the arts centre this Friday, February 15th, 6.30-7.30pm, for the launch of the new Artists Support Scheme, run by Sandra Kennedy, An Lanntair’s new Artist Support Co-ordinator.

The Artists Support Scheme is aimed at any creative person; whether you are a painter, film-maker, writer, musician, designer, jewellery-maker; whether you are a school-leaver with aspirations of a career in the creative industry or you currently have a career in the creative industry – this project is for you!

The goal is to create a pool of artists, and bring mentors and mentees together; getting artists from all over the Western Isles to collaborate, encourage and learn from one another.

There will be future opportunities for artists to provide workshops as well as to showcase any new works to be reviewed by their peers. The previous scheme of this kind has helped artists from across the islands to access career and training opportunities.

The official launch will take place 6.30-7.30pm in the Café Bar Round Room in An Lanntair; while Sandra will also be available 1-5pm for drop-ins, in the project space above the bar, for those of you who cannot attend the official get-together.

The launch will provide you the opportunity to tell Sandra exactly how the project can help you. It will take the form of an informal get-to-know-you, to help to shape the way in which the scheme will move forward.

Those attending the launch will also get discounted entrance to the 8’clock performance of ‘Whatever Gets you Through the Night’.

The Artists Support Scheme is brought to you by An Lanntair and funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
