Stornoway town centre has recently become home to a set of three very special benches.
The Western Isles Lottery Team are trialling a set of Children’s Board Game Bench Sets.
Two are located in Perceval Square and one in An Lanntair's forecourt.
The tables each have a chess or draughts board plus one other game for different ages and abilities and parents are encouraged to carry a dice or counters with them when out with their children.
The idea has also been picked up in Iochdar, South Uist, where children will soon be able to enjoy the new addition to their Community.
In the coming weeks and months, both residents and visitors to the Isles will see a large variety of floral displays spring up, power washing of areas and other innovative additions to help showcase our Islands at their best.
The local Lottery is nearing the end of its second successful year during which over £100,000 will have been distributed to dozens of local groups with many positive improvements having been made across the Islands.
