A 45-year-old man was arrested at an address in Stornoway in the early hours of Thursday (July 11th) and charged with domestic breach of the peace.

Police were called at 1.53am to an incident at the address and took the man into custody, from where he appeared in court and was released on bail.

On Friday a 41-year-old man was before Stornoway Sheriff Court charged with a breach of bail conditions . He’s been detaied in custody and will appear in court today (Monday July 15th)

Drink-driver in Harris

A man has been disqualified from driving after police found him to be driving with alcohol in his system in the early hours of last Wednesday (July 10th)

The 54-year-old was stopped while driving in Bunavonader at 4.05am on Wednesday, and appeared in court from custody the same day. He pled guilty and was handed the ban on the spot.

Vandalism and resisting arrest

Police were called to Stornoway town centre late on Saturday night (July 13th) where a 17-year-old youth was involved in an incident.

The youth was arrested for vandalism at 11.30pm and was additionally charged with resisting arrest and being in possession of a quantity of drugs. He’s to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Appeals for information

Police are asking for information after two unrelated incidences of vandalism in the Broad Bay area.

Sometime between Saturday 13th July and 11pm on Sunday a Skoda Octavia car parked outside a house in North Tolsta had paintwork scratched and a windscreen wiper broken. Anyone who knows how this may have happened is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting incident number NH 906/19.

An earlier vandalism in Tong saw a home on Morrison Terrace having a double-glazed window smashed at 6am on Sunday July 7th. Police again ask for any information to go to the number 101 quoting incident NH 880/19.
