A man is to appear at Stornoway Sheriff Court tomorrow (Monday January 6th) after police were called to an address in Stornoway in the early hours of Saturday January 4th.

The 44-year-old man has been charged with assault and with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and has been in custody since his arrest.


Three drivers were issued with fixed penalties for offences under the Road Traffic Act over the weekend of January 3rd to 5th.

The drivers were stopped as part of proactive road safety policing under Operation Cedar, at locations in Stornoway and at Outend Coll.

They were penalised for offences including driving without insurance, using a mobile phone while driving and driving a vehicle without a valid test certificate.
