There have been no new cases of Covid-19 discovered by NHS Western Isles during yesterday (Sunday March 7) says the latest update from NHSWI Chief Executive Gordon Jamieson.
The total number of confirmed cases in Lewis and Harris from the new outbreak remains at 16 with more than 80 other people in self-isolation.
Mr Jamieson that whilst "we understand there has been disruption to the Stornoway-Ullapool ferry…we can confirm that no positive cases came through the Western Isles system today."
The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic remains at 264, with 184 of them occurring during 2021.
The CalMac ferry Loch Seaforth went out of service yesterday for "operational reasons" and the overnight freight services were cancelled as well.
The 10.30 from Ullapool will operate today. There will be no catering facilities on board.
Meanwhile, in Harris it’s been announced that because of “current Covid cases locally the mobile post office van will not be out.”
On the Harris Post Office Facebook Page, it says: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will update when we expect to resume service, but wellbeing of community and staff is priority. Stay Safe.”
