The Isle of Lewis ferry is out of service again as another storm approaches.
MV Isle of Lewis has developed an issue with one of her bow thrusters which has greatly reduced her ability to manoeuvre on and off the berth at Castlebay.
With incoming inclement weather forecast, and insufficient bow thrust capability, there was a risk that the vessel would not be able to come off the berth at Castlebay for a number of days.
In order to have repairs conducted, and to keep the Castlebay berth free for other vessels, MV Isle of Lewis will left Barra tonight for Stornoway.
She was approaching Stornoway Harbour just before midnight tonight (Monday March 8)
CalMac say: "We will advise on service options shortly but another period of unsettled weather may be a limiting factor."
