The quality of island football development was once again reinforced on Saturday (8 May) as Carloway’s Eachainn Miller signed on the dotted line for an extension of contract with Clachnacuddin FC.
The renewed three-year contract means that Eachainn, who works for Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s communications team, will continue to take a ferry and roadtrip for each match.
His club remarked posted on Saturday: “The club are today delighted to announce that Eachainn Miller has signed a new 3-year contract with the club.
“Eachainn, who lives on the Isle of Lewis, was absolutely delighted to pen a new deal and can't wait for the season to get going. He will undertake a car, ferry and then another car trip for each match, so his dedication and commitment to the club is in absolutely no doubt. Great to have you here, Eachainn!”
Eachainn is the son of Graeme Miller, himself a football fanatic with a long connection to Carloway. Graeme presents Isles FM’s weekly ‘Off the Croft’ football update on Drivetime on Isles FM.
Father and son were both involved in Carloway’s trophy-winning season in 2016, when their island club took home both the Acres Boys Club (ABC) cup and the Eilean an Fhraoich cup, with Graeme as manager and Eachainn playing.
