Three people have been reported for road traffic offences, in separate incidents around the Stornoway area this week.
On Monday (31 May) at 8.30am a woman was spotted driving at 66 miles per hour in a 40mph zone in Newmarket. The 46-year-old woman has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police responded to a number of reports from members of the public around the Mackenzie Park area on Monday evening. A man aged 41 was stopped at 6.30pm and is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for offences including drink-driving.
And at 6.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 June) a 24-year-old man was detected speeding on Matheson Road in Stornoway. He’s to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a number of road traffic offences.
Appeal after car damaged
There’s a police appeal for information after a silver Mazda car was damaged while parked in Stornoway.
The car was parked on Bayhead between 12 noon on Saturday (29 May) and 10am on Sunday, during which time its near-side wing mirror was broken.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything related to this incident, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number NH 660/21.
