A high-end beauty range made in the Isle of Lewis has scored four nominations in the Natural Health beauty awards for 2021, it was announced on Monday (14 June).
Ishga Skin Care, who make spa-quality face, body, hair and cleansing products, are part of the Hebridean Seaweed group of companies based at Arnish.
The company harvests the natural skin antioxidants, healing, and anti-ageing properties of seaweed from the shores of Lewis, using sustainable hand-harvesting and scientific research to create skincare which gives great results.
Two of their products have been named as finalists in the Natural Health Beauty Awards and they are also in the running for awards in the category of men’s grooming products and for the Soil Association certified essentials award.
The products nominated are Ishga nourishing organic facial oil and Ishga regenerating organic face serum. All the categories are now to be assessed by judges, with decisions on the top awards due to be announced on 19 August.
The nominations mean the company is ranked alongside established beauty brands, such as Tisserand and Faith in Nature, in an increasingly busy natural and organic beauty world.
But in a year that started with two delayed 2020 awards from Natural Health Magazine – for the male grooming range and in the Soil Association essentials category – everyone at Ishga is justified in having high hopes.
