Cyclist Iain Macleod from Gress yesterday (Sunday August 8) won the CTT Scottish National 100 mile TT championship, with a new Scottish record time of  3:28:33, smashing the previous record of 3:36:16 by 7 minutes and 43 seconds. 

Earlier in the year, Iain was overall champion and set a new course record during the Caithness Cycling Club CTT weekend on 26 and 27 June. Iain, aged 33, who now stays in Aberdeen, set a new course record in the 25-mile TT race, finishing the course in first place in 51mins 19 seconds, with team-mates Jamie Davidson and Thomas Gelati in second and third place.
