Marion MacLennan from Lower Sandwick, pictured above, is training hard to achieve her goal of completing the London Marathon next month (October) while raising money for a charity incredibly close to her heart.
Marion is a Cancer Research UK Isle of Lewis Committee member and will be running the London Marathon on October 3.
Marion raises money in memory of several loved ones that she has sadly lost to the illness.
Above, Marion’s Auntie Margaret, her granny Marion, her mother Chriselle and her grandfather Angus.
She remembers her mother Chriselle, her granny Marion and her auntie Margaret as she takes on the 26.2 mile marathon challenge.
She hopes that raising money for this important cause will save lives through research, influence and information.

It’s a disease that affects so many families but Cancer Research UK are funding vital research so we can beat cancer.
Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years.
Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Cancer Research UK aims to improve results even faster.
