Comedian Andrew Bird is coming to Stornoway to perform at An Lanntair in November…and fulfil a long-held ambition.
He says: "I have wanted to do Stornoway for a long time, mainly because it’s the only main place shown on the weather map I have never done. So this is the complete-the-weather-map show!"
Following a successful debut tour culminating at The Leicester Square Theatre and a recording of a sold-out hometown gig. Andrew is back with a brand-new show – Invincible - which is on Saturday November 13 at An Lanntair arts centre.
Andrew supported TV personality Michael McIntyre on the UK leg of his Big World Tour, including sell out shows at the O2, Wembley, Glasgow Hydro, Aberdeen and supported Rob Brydon in Inverness. In July 2021 he supported Russell Howard for a series of shows at Bristol City’s Football Stadium. He has written for TV shows 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo. He has his own podcast where he chats to comedians about music called “A Funny Taste in Music”.
Andrew grew up in a small town in Northamptonshire in England and then moved to London and worked in a pub; married a Slovakian girl, moved back to a small town and had children. When he was young, he thought that you and the people you look up to, as “Invincible”.
