Mussel lines

An application has been received for permission to deploy two 330m twin-headline longlines for the production of mussels in West Loch Erisort, Balallan. The applicant is Mr Richard Tait of Western Isles Mussels Ltd., of Walls, Shetland.

The application states that the development will create three boat crew jobs. The proposed site area is 60 metres wide by 410 metres. The grid reference at the site’s midpoint is Easting 130686 and Northing 920378.

The proposed production cycle is 36 months using natural stocking methods.

 

Campervan site

A change of use application has been received to convert croft land into a 17-pitch campsite at 35B Breasclete. The applicant is Mr Donald J Morrion, of 30B Breasclete.

 

Erect a house

A two-storey house with an integrated double garage is proposed for a 1500 square metre site at 57C Leurbost. The applicant for planning permission is Anna Macleod, of 57 Leurbost.

 

Solar array

Planning consent is being sought for an 11 panel 3.6Kw ground-based solar panel array at 12 Hacklete, Bernera. The applicant, Mrs Anne Watt, of 9 Kiln Ridge, Stornoway, plans to install the renewable energy system at the Harsger View Holiday Cottage.

The solar panels, mounted on ground-level consoles, will be tilted at 15 degrees facing southwest.

 

House extension

Planning permission is being sought to extend the property at Balloch, 6C Laxdale. The applicant, Mrs Faye Macdonald, wishes to create a utility room.
