The aftermath of Storm Barra has forced a timetable change at Tarbert ferry port, which was due to be closed today (Wednesday 8 December) for works to be carried out on the pier fender as part of an infrastructure improvement project.
Disruption to transport from the second named storm of the 2021 winter season, meant that CMAL decided to postponed pier work due to be carried out today.
Instead, the port will now be closed to ferry traffic on Wednesday 15 December for the works to be done.
Cancelled sailings for today were reinstated by CalMac, although this morning’s 7.30am sailing from Tarbert to Uig was cancelled due to the sea state and winds still lingering after the storm.
Service will recommence with the 2pm sailing from Uig and 4pm departure from Tarbert.
