Because of the weather and other unforeseen delays, the original dates for closures and restrictions in parking availability of South Beach Car park in Stornoway and Tarbert Car park have been amended to the following, says Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

• Partial Closure of South Beach Carpark – Monday 16 May - Monday 23 May
• Full Closure South Beach Carpark - Monday 23 May 06:00 hrs to Wednesday 25 May 18:00 hrs
• Partial Closure Tarbert Car park – Wednesday 25 May

The public are requested to ensure their vehicles are removed from these areas before the closure times to enable works to proceed.

Alternative parking will be available at No. 1 pier in Stornoway and at other locations in the town centre.

Parking charges in Stornoway town centre will now be suspended from Wednesday 11 May at 09:00 hrs until Thursday 26 May at 09:00, to facilitate alternative parking during the works.

Closure dates may be subject to further change at short notice for any number of reasons. 

These works are being undertaken by Breedon Hebrides on behalf of the Comhairle and are projects funded from the Scottish Government’s Islands Infrastructure Fund.
